If you are unsure about any vehicle that may not be a taxi then please do not get into the vehicle. All our Private Hire Taxis will:

Have our company numbers displayed on the each side of the vehicle: 546 4444 or 546 0000

Have a Knowsley M.B.C private hire plate at the rear of the vehicle with its model, make, colour, reg no, and expiry date clearly displayed

Have a Knowsley M.B.C private hire badge displayed in the front windscreen of the vehicle displaying the model, make, colour, reg no, and expiry date

The driver will be wearing a Knowsley M.B.C Private Hire Drivers badge and another badge must be clearly displayed in the rear of the vehicle

Acorn Cars Private Hire Taxis are firmly committed to Knowsley M.B.C Taxi Safe Campaign and recommend that you follow their advice when using taxis. The Licensing Office have produced a leaflet which you can view here.

For your peace of mind and security

All our drivers have been vetted by the Criminal Records Bureau and must possess an Enhanced Disclosure before they are allowed to work as a Private Hire Driver.

All drivers must be licensed by Knowsley M.B.C before they are allowed to work as a Private Hire Driver.

All vehicles must be fully insured before they are allowed to be used as a private hire vehicle.

All vehicles must be pass a twice yearly stringent vehicle examinations by Knowsley M.B.C. Only when the vehicles meet the strict criteria will it be licensed to be used as a Private Hire Vehicle.

Female customers who prefer to be collected by a lady driver can specify this service in advance by telephoning Acorn Cars Private Hire on 0151 546 4444. Please note no bookings will be accepted for this service by email.
